We are Mike and Carrie Fisher, recently retired, living in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. We love to travel, but like many of you, have had to cram in a lot of adventure into a tight two week vacation schedule. But no more! Now that we are free from the time restraints of work commitments we can do what we want, go where we want, and spend as much time doing it as we please.
We’ve enjoyed many of our excursions at home and abroad over the years, but never really got to feel like a local because we always had to move on to the next location. We’d spend a blissful few days in the Tuscan countryside only to pack up and hurriedly move on to the next location in our two week Italian trip. When Carrie had a chance to train staff at the UNSW in Sidney, Australia a few years ago, I tagged along for the adventure. But with the long flights from the US, and the limited time there, we could only see a bit of Sidney and some of the surrounding area. Australia is a big country!
Our goal is to travel as slowly as we can and really get to know the places we visit. This blog is our way of documenting where we go, what we see and who we meet along the way. Come join us on our journeys.
